How Does the LONCIN XWolf1000 Mud Perform in Deep Mud?

Mud has always been a challenging test of an ATV’s true performance. Getting stuck, slipping, bottoming out, or losing power—any one of these issues can render the vehicle unable to traverse terrain. This time, we focused our testing on the LONCIN XWolf1000 Mud, specifically designed for muddy off-roading.

Based on our field tests, the LONCIN XWolf1000 Mud’s performance in continuous mud pits, muddy slopes, and water crossings is far more impressive than its specifications suggest.

Deep Mud Traversal

When faced with endless ruts and half-wheel-deep mud holes, the key strength of the XWolf1000 Mud is provided by its Mud Tire wheels of 30 inches, 343mm ground clearance, and 4WD-Lock differential lock setting. When the vehicle enters the mud, mud will be easily expelled from the tires and wheel spin minimized. Even when some of the wheels are stuck in the mud, traction will be continuously available through the 4WD system.

The XWolf1000 Mud is more stable than conventional ATVs when faced with deep mud.

Superior Torque

Mud riding isn’t about top speed, but about low-speed bursts of power. The XWolf1000 Mud features a 976cc V-Twin engine and a BOSCH® EFI electronic fuel injection system, delivering a maximum power of 75kW and a maximum torque of 102N·m. The power delivery is highly direct while climbing muddy slopes and while extracting oneself from deep puddles.

Even at low speeds, throttle response remains rapid, with no noticeable drag. The CVT transmission also performs stably in muddy conditions, maintaining consistent power output.

Four-Wheel Drive System

Most ATVs will work great on normal muddy paths, but easily suffer from single-wheel spin when approaching deep mud. The XWolf1000 Mud provides driving settings in 2WD, 4WD, and 4WD-lock modes.

Under the 4WD-lock setting, the vehicle is guaranteed stability even if there is not enough grip from one side of the wheel. This feature works best where there is a cross axle and deep mud traps, making extrication faster and more efficient.

Suspension and Vehicle Stability

Besides being slippery, mud is also potholed and rutted. The XWolf1000 Mud has a double wishbone suspension, completely adjustable air suspension, and a super long travel front and rear suspension. In case of traveling at high speeds through constant mud, its performance is much better compared to a regular stiff suspension all-terrain vehicle.

Even at high speeds through rutted terrain, the vehicle performs well in terms of traction.

Wading and Durability

Mud environments often involve wading and continuous riding under heavy loads. The XWolf1000 Mud performs stably in mud wading, prolonged low-speed riding, and hot mud conditions.

The liquid cooling system keeps the engine temperature consistently stable. The BOSCH® EFI electronic fuel injection system maintains good responsiveness in slippery conditions. The large 33L fuel tank also makes long-distance mud riding easier.

Who Is The LONCIN XWolf1000 Mud Suitable For?

Having tested it in deep mud, mud inclines, mud crossing, and high-speed mud terrain, what stands out most about the LONCIN XWolf1000 Mud is not only how much power it has, but also how well it adapts to muddy terrain. The XWolf1000 Mud is one motorcycle that was made to ride on mud unlike other ATVs used for recreation.

Of course, as a large mud ATV, its 543kg weight can pose some handling challenges in narrow forest trails, making it more suitable for open mud, rough forest roads, and serious off-road environments. For general light off-roading, its performance might even seem excessive;

However, if you truly enjoy deep mud, water crossings, and extreme mud pit challenges, then the LONCIN XWolf1000 Mud’s overall performance definitely places it firmly in the ranks of high-performance mud ATVs.
